Jumpstart Your Life Through Affirmations

I love myself! I love myself! I love myself!
Do you feel like your life needs a boost? If so, jump on the affirmation bandwagon. An affirmation is a powerful structure that will help you get more in touch with your heart’s desire. Once you reach clarity about what you want, simply create a statement in the present tense that identifies your desire. An affirmation needs unwavering belief to fuel it into reality. If you do not believe that it will come to pass, you will most likely be correct. If you have no idea where to start, use the ‘I love myself’ affirmation. Self-love puts you into a healthy relationship with yourself and gives you a great foundation to build on.
Be Bold!
A current affirmation that I am playing with is “My house is freshly painted by reliable painters for a good price and looks great.” The house I live in desperately needs to be painted and finding reliable painters has been a challenge. Instead of trying to force this situation into resolution, I have created an affirmation to aid in this dilemma. I believe my affirmation will attract the perfect painters at the perfect time and that a fair price will be charged for a job well-done
I find affirmations around material items to be easier to connect with than affirmations that focus on expanding my sense of self. For example, one of my affirmations is “I am a strong, confident woman and people love me.” That feels big, bold and maybe even a bit egotistical. I breathe through my feelings of resistance as I write or say this affirmation. Since I have gathered evidence that affirmations can come true, I do my best to remain focused on the outcome I desire.
Getting Started
If playing with affirmations is new to you, I suggest you begin by writing them down. After checking in with your heart, determine what you want to bring into your life. Form your desire into a simple statement and write it across the top of a sheet of paper. Remember to write your affirmation as if it has already occurred. Absorb your statement and embrace it as a reality.
Reinforce each affirmation by writing the statement twenty times or more. I like to fill a whole page with one affirmation. Keep your pen on the paper as you write each word of your affirmation. Your statement will look like one very long word as you forget about spaces and correct sentence structure. This helps you absorb your affirmation more fully.
Another method is to look at yourself in the mirror and say your affirmation out loud to your reflection. This might feel uncomfortable at first and that is okay. Push through the resistance and keep going. It will get easier with practice. Another option is to think about each affirmation regularly and get in touch with how you will feel once the affirmation becomes a reality. Be sure to swim in those happy feelings for a few minutes.
Do This For YourSelf
How often should you bond with your affirmations? Daily reinforcement is ideal and also a lofty goal. Don’t sabotage yourself on this one. Commit to a schedule that fits into your life. It is better to connect with your affirmations once a week instead of neglecting them entirely. However, keep in mind that this can easily be incorporated into your life. For example, you can verbalize or think about your affirmations as you drive to work, visit the bathroom or clean up the kitchen. Jot down your affirmations at any time during the day just for fun. It is up to you to decide how much energy and time you want to give to each one of your affirmations.
Believe
There is no reason to make this process too serious or difficult. Keep this exercise light and playful while remembering that the power of belief can breathe life into the deepest desires of your heart. You don’t have much to lose by giving this a try so why not go for it? Dare to dream big and keep believing in your affirmations no matter how long it might take to see the outcomes you are longing for. Some of my affirmations have taken many years to manifest. I look back and think how grateful I am that I kept believing in them now that many of them have finally come true. You too can delight in watching your affirmations create your future reality. Keep believing and so it shall be!
