Imagine a five-year-old girl with blue eyes and messy strawberry-blonde hair looking toward the sky at a colorful, vivid rainbow. A grown man stands next to her and enthusiastically tells her that a grand pot of gold is tucked away at the end of each side of the rainbow. She looks into his eyes to see if he is telling the truth. After a short moment of disbelief, she decides to believe him.
That little girl was me and that memory is etched into my mind. I've been hoping to find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow every since that carefree afternoon.
When my husband and I came across this rainbow close to Hilo, Hawaii, the five-year-old girl in me wanted to jump into the ocean and look for the elusive pot of gold that had to be somewhere in that blue salt water. My husband had a different idea. He grabbed the camera and started going after the perfect shot.
While he snapped photos, I admired this incredible gift that seemed to appear just for us. As I immersed myself in the majestic beauty of the moment, I got it!
The pot of gold is not elusive.
Pots of gold are everywhere!
Just being in the space where the sky, land, water, clouds, sun and a rainbow danced together made me feel as if I found a pot of gold. Nothing could have made me any happier in that moment.
What makes up your pot of gold? When is the last time you had a "pot of gold" moment?
Blessings!
