Oldie but Goodie
I'm not one of Kevin's biggest fans so I did not watch "Field of Dreams" until a few weeks ago. I could not believe how much I loved this movie! I'm going to assume you've seen this movie since it was a big hit in 1989. Remember the scene with the following dialogue? It really struck a chord with me.
When was the last time one of your dreams came true? Did you notice how it felt? Did it feel heavenly?
When I think about some of my fulfilled dreams, I am so filled with awe and gratitude that I feel like I achieve a heavenly state of mind. It is the most incredible feeling!
Do you have a dream that feels too big to achieve? (I confess that I do!) Try watching this movie for inspiration. Even if you don't have a super big dream, this movie might inspire you to create one!
What's your favorite inspirational movie?
Blessings!
Beverly

this is heaven...even amidst chaos of daily life there is such richness and inspiration...i love the dialog...blessings, rebecca

I'm glad you mentioned this one, Beverly! I'll bet I can even get it from the library now--they seem to specialize in movies so old that kids don't know to bother checking them out.
It has been too long since I have watched, that's for sure. I loved this movie, and I have seen it half a dozen times, probably. Having reached the stage in life where I can hide my own Easter eggs, though, it is fun to watch my favorites again. Just saw Forrest Gump a couple of weeks ago, and loved it...again!
Not to go for longest comment of the decade, but I am convinced heaven is a reality we can reach now, even if we may not stay long. It is just those moments of bliss you describe which are when we experience heaven. And, we can learn to visit more often and stay for longer periods.

Currently I love watching Whalerider for inspiration. The young girl in the story never gives up and acts always out of love for her family, for her community and eventually for herself. It's stunning!
Lovely post! Thank YOU for inspiring this line of thinking. :)

Oh I LOVE this film (though only being 5 in 1989 it was a few years later when I came across it!!)
I don't have one favourite inspirational films but many, including: Field of Dreams (hehe), The Wizard of Oz, It's a Wonderful Life, City of Angels, A Walk To Remember, You've Got Mail, Finding Neverland and numerous Disney films including Peter Pan and Cinderella! Oh so many to choose from and so many I am sure that have eluded me for the moment.

Whoa - this post is right on time! Come on over and see what I mean. I loved this movie back in the day - I was a huge Kevin fan then.

I watched this movie at a time when I was feeling called to go to seminary or something along those lines. When Kevin talks about hearing a voice but not being able to understand what he's saying, he really summed up what I was going through at the time. I used to tell my pastor that I felt God was calling me but I couldn't understand what he was telling me to do.
Of course, my life has taken many other directions since then and will continue, too, and I don't worry so much about being "told." I trust my intuition and figure that's how Source lets me know the next best move.
Now I wanna watch this movie again!
