Grow, Grow, Grow.
Two small rosebuds, one yellow and one pink. That's all that remained from the dozen roses I brought home two weeks ago. The rosebuds slowly turned a dingy shade of brown so I tossed them into the garbage can this morning.
A tinge of sadness filled my heart as I looked at those rosebuds for the last time. They did not achieve their full their potential. For some unknown reason, they failed to open up and show off the beautiful petals that God gave them. Now their lives have ended and their chance to bloom is over.
I wonder why they did not bloom? What did they need that they did not have?
Is there anything in your life that wants to open up and bloom? What supports your growth?
Blessings!
Beverly
The Jewish Talmud states that, "every blade of grass has its own little angel saying, `grow, grow, grow.'"
There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. ~ Anais Nin ~

nature has so many things to teach us. the cardinal sitting in the tree outside my window as i type here at my computer looks almost puzzled as to why i am not out on the tree branch with her. she turns her back to me now...casting a furtive glance now and then to see if i've come to my senses. okay beautiful bird...you win!

Your blog looks so bright and happy. A wonderful site to see pop up on the computer screen!
There is so much in my life that I want to see open up and bloom. I hope that what is going on for me at My New Life will be the start of all that.
Thank you for sharing in my journey over there.
Much love,
Annie

The single most important thing that supports my growth is being around positive people that want to see the best for me. And luckily, I have plenty of them.

What a beautiful post - and very poignant! It reminds me of all those young children who return to spirit never having grown into adulthood - yet their lives affected those around them so deeply. Perhaps your rosebuds chose not to bloom for reasons unknown to anyone but themselves!!

Hi Beverly,
Oh..I just love this post..the beautiful buds...your beautiful prose; and the seeds of bloom you've left with us! And, that Anais Nin quote is one of my favorites...and the Talmud quote too.
Thanks Bev, for the inspiration that you are.
hugs to you,
Cheryl
P.S. I think you'll also like the quote I recently added on my blog; another whisper to grow...
